PRINCIPALS NEWS:
Free and Reduced Price Meal Program
Monroe County School District participates in the USDA National Breakfast and Lunch
Programs, and meals are available to all students. Some students pay the full
advertised price, but low and moderate income students may qualify for free or reduced
priced meals.
Parents must fill out a new online application every school year for their
students to participate in the district's program, even if their students qualified for the
program last school year.
Be sure to use an active email address on your student's application in
order to receive your eligibility letter. Please use the web address below to
access the 2023-2024 school year free and reduced meal application.
There are two ways to qualify:
1. If you currently have SNAP(Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program),
TANF(Temporary Assistance for Needy Families) or if you have a foster child,
your student is eligible for free meals as long as you receive these benefits.
2. If your household income meets eligibility guidelines, your student can eat free or
at a reduced price of 40 cents a day for lunch.
You can apply for free or reduced price meals by completing the Online Free and
Reduced Lunch application. Parents must complete one application per household.
Online applications will be processed by the MCSD Child Nutrition Program Office, and
parents will receive a notification with the results of their application within a timely
manner. New applicants will be responsible for paying full prices for lunch ($2.55 per
day per student) until their application has been processed.
If parents need help with the online application process, they can call the MCSD food
services office at 662-257-2176 and ask for Mrs. Chism or Mr. Davis
Parents or families that do not have access to a personal computer or internet
connection can come to the school's cafeteria office, or can make an appointment to
come to the MCSD Child Nutrition Office to use a computer.
